to vent or not to vent?
Not a best friend, neither a close buddy.
But someone I knew-well.
we exchaned smiles & random comments when we met at family gatherings.
A 25 year old girl named Yusra.
parents favourite amongst the kids...
favourite niece for aunts & uncles...
a cousin who was looked & counted upon...
a star in her class...
a best friend to her buddies...
a doctor in the making, who people already took advice from...
Got married!
the most beautiful bride...
doting set of in laws...
most "forever" in love husband...
3 months of married beautiful life.
All came to an end this evening.
Exactly 7 days ago Yusra was struck by a fatal virus. First it was fever, then throwing up.
Slowly, she drifted of into coma, one after other her organs failed. She was put on to
ventilator. Doctors claimed her brain dead. But no one lost hope...
She profusely started bleeding internally.
Still everyone believed in the power of the ventilator.
The Aga Khan team could not detect what had happened.
Reports confirmed it wasnt congo virus...though the symptoms suggested otherwise.
Was it something she contracted from any of her patients? Was it something she
got from her Thailand honeymoon?
It is still an unsolved mystery.
She was kept in isolation. Anyone who had been in contact with her is on severe
anti viral treatment. Her body was to be buried immediately.
Aga Khan team gave the body in a wooden box, also providing special gloves
& masks for people who were to lower her into the grave.
Everyone was hit by a trauma. Geo shared this news on "news alert".
Her heart stopped pacing 5 minutes after they took her of the ventilator.
I am saddened by grief, being pulled more into depression thinking might she have survived
had they descided not to put her off the ventilator?
